Good Creatures Psychology Services respects your privacy. This policy explains how personal information is collected, used, protected, and disclosed when you visit this website, contact the practice, or access services. The practice’s privacy obligations are guided by the College of Alberta Psychologists’ Standards of Practice, Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and other applicable legal and professional requirements.
Information this website collects and why
When you use our contact form, the information you choose to provide (your name, email, phone number if given, and message) is processed by Netlify (website hosting provider) and delivered to Dr. Katrina Kully-Martens so she can respond to your inquiry. You also have the option to contact Dr. Kully-Martens directly by telephone or email.
Good Creatures collects only the personal information reasonably needed to respond to inquiries, provide psychological services, manage appointments and payments, maintain required records, and meet legal and professional obligations.
How we use your information
When you choose to submit an inquiry, your information is used only to reply to you, arrange consultations or appointments, and discuss possible services.
Communicating with us does not authorize unrelated uses or establish a psychologist–client relationship. Your information is never sold or shared for marketing.
Clinical records
If you become a client, your personal and health information will not be collected through this website. Client records are collected, stored, and maintained securely and confidentially in line with the standards of the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and Alberta privacy law. Details are reviewed with you as part of the informed consent process during your first appointment.
Website inquiries and email
Please keep website inquiries brief and avoid sending private health information, detailed health histories, or other sensitive documents through ordinary email or website forms. These details are best discussed in person or over the phone.
Electronic communication carries privacy risks, including misdelivery and unauthorized access. Website forms and email are not monitored continuously and should not be used for emergencies.
Website hosting and cookies
This website is hosted on Netlify, which processes form submissions and standard server logs. The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Practice email is hosted through Google Workspace, which processes and stores email messages and attachments to provide email services.
Protection and retention
The practice uses reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access is restricted to authorized individuals who need it for their responsibilities. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Personal information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose and applicable legal and professional obligations. Clinical records are subject to CAP’s record-retention requirements. Information is securely destroyed or anonymized when it is no longer required.
Questions or requests
For privacy questions or requests to access, correct, or remove information you’ve shared, please contact Dr. Kully-Martens directly by emailing drkatrina@goodcreatures.ca or calling (403) 613-7656.
If your privacy concern is not resolved, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. Concerns about a psychologist’s professional conduct may also be directed to the College of Alberta Psychologists.
